Selma City Schools Weekly COVID-19 Update

October 4, 2021

Dear Team Selma Families,

The safety of our scholars, teachers, and staff is our first priority. The mitigating factors in place at our schools and offices are aiding in minimizing the spread of COVID-19.  In the week ending October 1st, out of nearly 2,700 students, we had 1 reported positive case resulting in less than .5% margin. Our 350 staff across the district reported 0 positive cases for the week.

Based on these results, we will continue in-person instruction across the district at all of our schools. Please continue to encourage our scholars to practice good hygiene to reduce the risk of the virus and keep them home if they are sick. If your child tests positive, please report this to the school as soon as feasible so that it will be shared with the school nurse and principal.  For your convenience, our COVID-19 self-reporting link is now available on our website

We must all work together to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for both our scholars and staff for the continuation of traditional learning. Please remember to keep those impacted by the virus in your thoughts and prayers. Let’s keep Doing Our Part Everyday. Stay safe and be DOPE!

Kind regards,

Avis Williams, Ed.D.

Superintendent

Selma City Schools
