Did you know? Selma City Schools is relaunching their five-year strategic plan, A Framework for Excellence. On September 23rd, Selma City Schools will host a strategic planning summit to share updated goals and direction publicly. During the planning summit, stakeholders will have the opportunity to learn more about the plan and to provide feedback that will then inform the completion prior to the official relaunch of our Framework for Excellence this fall.
Selma City Schools is excited to introduce a new area, safety and wellness. This area will focus on physical, emotional, and mental safety of scholars and staff with the objective of fostering healthy minds and bodies in a safe and engaging learning environment.
"Three years ago, Team Selma launched our Framework for Excellence 5-year strategic plan. So much has changed since then and we are responding by updating our plan with new, robust and timely strategies and goals. The pandemic caused us to have to pivot forward and it changed our thinking. However, it did not change our commitment to excellence and this new strategic plan speaks to that."-Dr. Avis Williams, Selma City Schools Superintendent
The planning summit starts at 9:30am and will take place in the Selma High School Media Center. The summit will be shared live from the Selma City Schools Facebook page. Stakeholders are encouraged to review the plan and provide feedback. Following the summit, a draft of the plan will be available on the Selma City Schools website with a link for parents, guardians, and community members to provide their feedback.
