Greetings Edgewood Families:

I am so excited to begin this year and to welcome you to Edgewood Commerce and Entrepreneurship Academy.  As we plan for a beginning like nothing we have seen in the past, our foci will continue to be that:

*every child, every day is finding a way to feel connected,

*every child, every day is being challenged by new learnings and experiences,

*every child, every day knows they are destined for greatness.

We will be implementing many collaborative activities to increase family engagement within our school to truly have “parents as partners”! Remember, 30 minutes of reading and math skills practice nightly as we work toward our goal of at least 80% of our scholars meeting or exceeding their grade level expectations! #EdgewoodExcellence

Spring 2020 has challenged staff and students to find a new normal for learning, connected us in new ways and required our scholars to connect from afar. What I have most learned through this process is how much I appreciate the dedication our teachers bring to Edgewood, the ways in which our students continue to work hard to grow and overall, appreciation for the little things in life - giving a high five, a hug or being able to laugh out loud with many people around. What I MOST appreciate about Edgewood is how even under circumstances we have never experienced we are still a learning and caring community.

Normal is such a simple word, and it is our goal at Edgewood to not only find our new normal, but to use this time as a learning experience that will forever positively impact the learning environment. Our fall may not be “normal,” and our learning will not only continue, it will thrive!

Busy Bees, GO FORTH AND BEE GREAT!!!

With Excellence,

Dr. Margaret M. Jones
