Guidance Counselor

Mission and Purpose:

guidance counselor The mission of the Counseling and Guidance Program at Clark Elementary School is to be an integral part of the total educational process. It is designed to prepare every student socially, academically, and emotionally for present and future challenges. It supports the state of Alabama's plan for the Comprehensive Counseling and Guidance Standards. These standards are statements of what students should know and be able to do as result of participating in a school counseling program.

The purpose of the program is to ensure that all students can achieve school success through academic, career, and personal/social development experiences. In this regard, the program involves a planned, purposeful, and sequential program of activities that begin in kindergarten and continues through fifth grade. The curriculum standards represent what school counseling and guidance programs should contain and establish similar goals, expectations, support systems and experiences for every student. The school counseling and guidance program at Clark Elementary is data-driven by student needs, and it provides outcome based accountability measures that align with the school's overall academic mission.
