Leon Day

I am Coach Leon Day. I am originally from Birmingham, Al. I am an only child of Angela Day, a retired military veteran and an amazing single parent. Due to my life’s journey, I was fortunate to live all over the world in a short amount of time. I’ve lived in Germany, Texas, Georgia, Virginia, New York, and Birmingham Alabama between each new deployment. By the ninth grade, it was determined to be best for me, to finish my high school education at Wenonah High School (Class of 1995), while living with my Aunt (Tanya Day). I was fortunate to receive and accept a full athletic scholarship to play Quarterback for Troy University. I eventually transferred to Tuskegee University. There, I completed my athletic career as a Quarterback and received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. I immediately began teaching and coaching while operating my own businesses. 

I have been a public and private school educator/coach for a total of 24 years. During that time span, I’ve had the privilege to teach every grade level from K-12. Also, I’ve held the position of Head High School Football Coach, Offensive Coordinator, and many more coaching duties.

  It is my passion to have a positive influence on the people I meet and the scholars I teach. My strongest passion is being an inspiration to scholars in situations that are underprivileged. My ultimate goal as an educator is to help scholars achieve success academically, athletically, and personally which I hope will lead them to become positive, productive global citizens.  

I am currently the Physical Educator at Clark Elementary. It has been an amazing growth experience for me both professionally and personally.   I thank my team for their support and excellence.
