Welcome to xSEL Summer Learning Program! Summer school begins on Monday, June 5, 2023, and ends on Thursday, July 6, 2023! The program will run Monday to Thursday from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm and will include breakfast and lunch. Transportation will be provided on a first come, first served basis.
The Selma City School district is offering various, in-person, summer learning opportunities through the Excel in Summer Enriched Learning (xSEL) program to enhance the learning of our scholars in Grades K-12. All scholars are invited to take advantage of the structured learning activities offered by xSEL. Effective enrichment, intervention and acceleration classes will be provided to scholars in K-8.
- Promotion summer school is available for scholars in grades K-12. Instructional requirements must be achieved, and attendance is required for promotion.
- Selma High School will offer credit-bearing courses for acceleration for incoming freshmen to include ELA, geometry, and a CTE elective. Dual enrollment is also available for scholars in grades 10-12.
- The xSEL program is free for all current Selma City Schools scholars in grades K-12. For scholars outside of the school district, there will be a charge of $100.00 per course.
- The policies set forth by Selma City Schools in the Student-Parent Resource Handbook, including the daily attendance requirement, will be strictly applied.
Please complete the online application before Friday, May 26, 2023, if planning for your scholar to participate in the program. For more information, please call each school or email questions to xSEL@selmacityschools.org.
