Cynthia Green
A highly reflective and effective educator both for her students and colleagues are two of many attributes that describes Mrs. Green. Cynthia Murry-Green is a native of Selma, Alabama. She is a wife, mother of three, and grandmother of one. She is a product of Dallas County school system and graduate of Southside High School. She attended Concordia College, where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Mrs. Green has been employed with Selma City Schools since 2006. She started as Even Start Coordinator for four years and later became 2nd grade teacher at Payne Elementary in 2010. She serves on various committees, which include, fundraiser chairperson, budget committee, cheerleader sponsor, mentor teacher, and lead teacher for second grade. Mrs. Green is Google Certified Educator Level 1&2. She is an active member of Grant Chapel African American Church where she serves as President of the Missionary Society and a member of Steward Board. She also serves as 3rd Vice President of Alabama River Region Conference of the AME Church Missionary Society. She enjoys how everyone works hard to achieve the same goal. She is passionate about the education of all students. Her passion is a motivating factor that drives for better student achievement and engagement. Working with children and their parents has given her the determination and understanding to be the best possible teacher she can be now and in the future.
