Athenia Angion received a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Elementary Education from Marshall University (1997). In 2007 Mrs. Angion completed her Master
Degree in Elementary Education from Alabama State University. In addition, Mrs.
Angion has an Education Specialist Degree in Elementary Education from Alabama
State University (2013). Athenia Angion
holds an Instructional Leadership Certification from the University of West
Alabama (2016).
Her work experience began as a 5th
grade Resource Teacher at Lyman Hall Elementary School in Hinesville, Georgia.
Mrs. Angion taught in the Montgomery Public School System for 6 years. She taught 5th grade at Hayneville Road
Elementary School and worked as a Reading Tutor, served as grade level chair, and
taught 2nd grade at Brewbaker Primary School. Mrs. Angion taught 2nd and 4th
grades at Edgewood Elementary School for 8 years. Presently Mrs. Angion works
at Clark Elementary School as a Reading Specialist. Mrs. Angion’s awards include: Teacher of the
Month (November 2016), Perfect Attendance Selma City Schools, Reading Model and
Master Educator Renaissance Learning, Inc. 2009-2012, Stanford 10 Assessment
Award, Performance Series Math and Reading Tests Awards, and DIBELS Assessment
Awards.
Athenia Angion’s is married with 2
children and enjoys working with children, reading, traveling, going to church,
and exercising.
