4/1/2020 UPDATE:  Starting today, Selma City Schools will offer grab-n-go meal pick-up two times a week: Monday and Wednesday. Each pickup will include meals for at least two days, breakfast and lunch. Hot grab-n-go lunch will be served at Selma High School on Monday's and Wednesday's only (10:00am-12:00pm)Starting today, Selma City Schools will offer grab-n-go meal pick-up two times a week: Monday and Wednesday. As many of you may have heard, the Governor has closed schools for the remainder of the school year. State Superintendent Mackey will meet with all district superintendents and Team Selma will provide further updates to all families soon. In the meantime, please continue to stay safe and healthy.

 
 3/18/2020 UPDATE:As a reminder, Selma City Schools will provide grab and go meals (to include breakfast and lunch items) March 16th-March 20th and March 30th-April 3rd from 10:00am- 12:00pm at Selma High, Meadowview, and Clark Elementary. Grab and go meals will not be available during Spring Break (March 23-March 27).
 
 
3/16/2020 UPDATE:  Selma City Schools will provide grab and go meals March 16th-March 20th and March 30th-April 3rd from 10:00am- 12:00pm at Selma High and Meadowview Elementary. Grab and go meals will not be available during Spring Break (March 23-March 27). We will share locations offering meals during that time. Again, meals will be solely for pick-up and will not have to be consumed on-site.  The meals will start on March 16, 2020 through March 20, 2020. March 30, 2020, until school, reopens.

Meals will be passed out only to children that are present.

 
3/15/2020  UPDATE: Good afternoon! In an effort to address concerns and to be responsive to the community, Selma City Schools will close for students effective immediately. Employees should report to work tomorrow. Schools will be open from 10am to noon tomorrow, Monday March 16 for students to pick up a sack lunch, workbooks and assignments. Information about meal pick up and student assignments during school closure will be listed here and on our district website by noon tomorrow. Schools will reopen on April 6 unless otherwise announced based on state guidance. Please stay tuned for additional updates.
 
3/14/2020 UPDATE:Today our state superintendent gave school districts additional flexibility. Student absences on Monday through Wednesday will be excused. In light of this, Wednesday will be a half day for employees ONLY. Assignments for scholars will be given and posted online. Elementary scholars will need their science, reading and math workbooks. If your child does not come to school Monday or Tuesday, please pick up the assignments and workbooks by Tuesday. Assignments will also be posted here and on our district website. To date, we still have no confirmed cases of the coronavirus in our school district. Please stay tuned for additional updates to include our plan for providing meals during this extended break. 3/13/2020 UPDATE: Today Governor Ivey issued a state of emergency due to the emergence of the coronavirus in Alabama. As a result, she has mandated that all K-12 schools be closed for 2 1/2 weeks beginning at the close of the business day on Wednesday March 18. Scholars will attend school all day on Monday and Tuesday and be dismissed from school at 11:30 on Wednesday. Teachers are preparing work to go home with each scholar. Our Child Nutrition Team is developing a plan to feed our scholars while schools are closed. Please continue to practice healthy habits and stay tuned for any updates.
