The Selma City Schools First Class Early Learning Program will now be located at Sophia P. Kingston Elementary. After careful consideration of many factors, Selma City Schools leaders concluded that Kingston is the most viable option. “Sophia P. Kingston Elementary is one of our newest facilities and it has enough space to house the entire program at its current capacity. “says Operations Director Joe Peterson. During the community meetings held to discuss school closures, teachers and community members expressed their desire to keep the program together citing the need for teachers to be able to collaborate and support one another. “I am excited that we were able to meet their requests” says Dr. Avis Williams, Superintendent of Selma City Schools. “Pre-K is important and we look forward to continuing to provide an exceptional program for our families!”
Registration for the fall has begun. We encourage parents to register as soon as possible to secure placement in the program. Information about registration is available on the district’s website. Please contact Ms. Cheryl Randolph at 334 874-1620 for any questions.
