Dr. Doris B. Cureton

Greetings!

I am Dr. Doris B. Cureton, Principal of Knox Academy of The Performing Arts. I am honored and privileged to serve as the new Principal, Instructional Leader, and Instructional Visionary of OUR school. Here at Knox, we encourage our scholars to BELIEVE AS THEY ACHIEVE...

As the Principal, Instructional Leader, and Instructional Visionary of Knox, I firmly believe “the academic success of scholars move individual classrooms forward—successful classrooms move grade levels forward—successful grade levels move individual schools forward—and, academically successful schools move school systems and communities forward.” I am COMMITTED TO EXCELLENCE ONE SCHOLAR-ONE TEACHER-ONE PARENT-ONE COMMUNITY AT A TIME!

I am a graduate of Francis Marion High School in Marion, Perry County, AL. I graduated Valedictorian of my senior class. After high school, I attended the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, AL where I obtained my Bachelor of Science, Master of Education, Education Specialist, and Administration Certification. I received National Board Certification in Early Childhood/Generalist and obtained my Doctor of Education degree from Nova Southeastern University in Instructional Leadership (a minor in Curriculum Development).

My door is always open to share and receive great, innovative ways of ensuring the SUCCESS OF ALL SCHOLARS here at Knox. My vision is Knox will become a "Leader in Me" school as we continue on the path of preparing OUR SCHOLARS OF TODAY FOR OUR LEADERS OF TOMMORROW!

Thank you in advance for your MUCH NEEDED and APPRECIATED SUPPORT.

Yours for educating ALL students,

Doris B Cureton
Principal
