Cynthia Green

Photo of Simmons Cynthia Murry-Green is a native of Selma, Alabama. She is the eldest child of Tommie and Roberta Murry. She is a wife, mother of three, and grandmother of one. She is a product of Dallas County school systems. Cynthia is a graduate of Southside High School. She attended Concordia College, where she earned her degrees in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Cynthia got a job working with Selma City Schools in 2006 as Even Start Coordinator. She later became 2nd grade teacher at Payne Elementary in 2010 where she has enjoyed how everyone works hard to achieve the same goal. She has been employed with Selma City Schools System for a total of 13 years. She is passionate about the education of all students. Her passion is a motivating factor that drives for better student achievement. Working with children has given her the determination and understanding to be the best possible teacher she can be now and in the future. She is an active member of Grant Chapel African American Church where she serves and hold offices on various levels of the church.
